We handle personal injury, wrongful death, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and harassment cases. We also represent children who have been molested or abused in foster care.
Our personal injury and wrongful death practice includes slip / trip and fall accidents, construction site accidents, product liability, dog bites, burns, automobile and motorcycle accidents, and many other types of accidents. Over the years we have represented hundreds of clients who have suffered a variety of injuries including spine injuries, brain injuries, burns, broken bones, serious emotional trauma, and even wrongful death.
Michael Justice is also a member of a select group of lawyers appointed by the juvenile court to represent children who have been molested or abused in foster care.
Our employment practice includes discrimination cases of all kinds, including disability, age, gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. And, we frequently represent victims of sexual harassment.
Michael L. Justice, Esq.
Michael L. Justice attended law school at the University of LaVerne / San Fernando Valley College of Law, and graduated Class Valedictorian in 1990. After passing the bar on his first attempt, he settled into a firm concentrating in personal injury and employment discrimination cases. Michael started his own firm in 1995, and has handled hundreds of cases to completion, through settlement or trial.
In 2008, Michael became a member of ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates), which is one of his proudest accomplishments. ABOTA is an organization composed of the most experienced trial lawyers in the United States. Michael was selected to Super Lawyers in 2014, and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Tort panel, under which he receives cases assigned from the juvenile court judges in Los Angeles.
In 2007, Michael received his certification from the Los Angeles County Bar Association to become a mediator, and since then, has been sought out by countless lawyers and law firms to mediate their cases.
Alec R. Simpson, Esq.
Labor Omnia Vincit. ‘Hard work conquers all’ is the motto Alec lives by regardless of the task. Prior to joining the firm, Alec worked throughout his law school education resulting in a wide-range of experience in various fields including Military Law, Intellectual Property, and Insurance Bad Faith.
Alec received his B.A. degree from UCLA and his J.D. degree from Golden Gate University School of Law, where he was admitted as a member of the Moot Court Board, made the Dean’s List each semester from 2011-2013, became an editor for the Environmental Law Journal, earned the Witkin Award for highest grade in Securities Regulation, and was Vice President of the Intellectual Property Law Association. Above all, Alec’s favorite achievement during law school came when he took the opportunity to learn European Union law and France’s Civil Code by attending Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense for a summer in Paris.
Alec attributes the dynamic and unique approach he brings to his work as a result of these experiences. In his capacity as Associate Lawyer with the Law Office of Michael Justice, Alec has gained extensive litigation experience and developed excellent client relationships.
In his first two years of practice, Alec has assisted Michael Justice in two jury trials, has participated and negotiated settlements of large personal injury and employment litigation cases, attended Mediation sessions, and has taken and appeared at multiple depositions.
Meghan Corzine, Certified Paralegal
Meghan Corzine attended California Lutheran University and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in May 2008. During her time at Cal Lutheran she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Chi Lambda Chapter of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society and was on the Dean’s List nearly every semester. Meghan spent a semester as an intern in the misdemeanor unit at the District Attorney’s Office in Ventura where she was able to interact with attorneys and others in the legal profession.
After graduation she attended the Paralegal Training Program at UCLA. Meghan graduated from UCLA in December 2009 with her certification in paralegal studies with a concentration in litigation.
In February 2010 Meghan began working at the Law Office of Michael Justice as Mr. Justice’s paralegal. Since then she has worked on many personal injury, employment discrimination, retaliation and sexual harassment cases.
Meghan now wears multiple hats working as both a Certified Paralegal and Legal Secretary. Meghan is in charge of all calendaring and office management, client support, discovery, investigation, and lends her knowledge and experience toward helping all of our clients. Meghan has developed a wealth of experience as she has attended depositions, mediations, and defense medical exams of personal injury clients.
Yvette Lopez, Legal Assistant
Yvette Lopez attended Santa Barbara Business College and graduated with her Associates degree in Paralegal Studies in June 2008. In April 2015, Yvette joined forces with Michael Justice, and has been an integral part of his practice taking on complex tasks in connection with being Michael’s Paralegal. Yvette has worked on many cases including personal injury, employment discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment cases.
Yvette devotes her tireless attention to detail including thorough evaluations and summaries of medical and billing records. Yvette also conducts the initial intake of all new clients and lends support and knowledge to existing clients. Yvette also attends defense medical exams of personal injury clients.
